Urban Zone: The zones of urban structure - roadshow

LHT Network and the Urban Zone project group (the Finnsh Environment Institute and the Tampere University of Technology) organized in the period of 2012-2013 an “UZ Roadshow” together with the partner city regions. The goal of the Urban Zone Roadshow was to report on the results of the UZ study and to compare the results with the undergoing changes in the urban structure of each visited city region. The sessions also included other topical development challenges in the participating city regions, such as water supply and sewerage, service network, urban sprawl and planning issues in peri-Urban areas nearby larger urban settlements.

Surveys

The LHT Network carries through surveys with its members organisations and partners in order to publish status reports on various themes close to the network aims. The newest survey themes are the regional housing policy survey and the upcoming survey within the members cities on rail traffic, suburban trains, trams, station and property development.

Projects

The LHT network organizes and co-work with several regional and national projects with more than one city-regions as case-cities. The original project founder in previous projects (2012-2013) varies from the universities to the Finnish Environment Institute and private consultances. Communicating and publishing

The main part of the work of LHT Network is to share information and experiences from national and international studies andthe lessons learned in the every-day-planning in member cities. The Network is publishing all the available data from workhops, seminars, meetings, projects etc. through this website. The other main line with publishing is tyo publish a large quantates of reports, final project reports, summaries, breefings from our projects and every now and then a printed publication on important discussion themes such as the city-regional planning, the land-use experiences form the previous municapality mergers etc. The LHT Network also provides the Network Breefs 3-4 times per year and shares the information activitely in other media. The main publishing language is (unfortunately) Finnish.
